Trusting God
TheSummer 1 quarter is entitled Trusting God.
The first unit focuses on trusting God’s provision for us. He made and rules over everything, and supplies the needs of all his creation. Students learn that God is merciful. He saved Noah and his family, and promised a Savior who would redeem his people. As students see God’s hand in the lives of Noah, Job, and the Israelites, they find out that God is powerful and faithful to his Word.
In the second unit, students learn that God cares for his people. As they look at the lives of Elijah, Elisha, David, and Joash, they find that God is always in control and can be counted on at all times. God helps us when we are in trouble, providing for us, and giving us what we need to trust and obey him.
The third unit emphasizes the saving power of God. Here, students are confronted with their sinfulness and their need to trust completely in God’s salvation. Students discover that God, their Maker and Provider, is also their Savior. Through stories of Peter and his relationship to the Saviorlearners are faced with their need of forgiveness from Jesus in order to be able to serve him. In the final lesson, students find that their heavenly Father has promised his people eternal life and a wonderful home with him in heaven.
