Telling Others
The Spring 1 quarter is titled Telling Others.
The first unit focuses on Jesus our loving Savior and risen Lord. He suffered and died on the cross to atone for our sins. As foretold in the Scriptures, he rose from the dead, and before ascending to heaven he told his disciples to take the gospel to the whole world, promising to send the Holy Spirit to enable them to do the task.
The second unit emphasizes trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit. Students discover that God’s Spirit came at Pentecost and empowered the disciples. They proclaimed the gospel boldly so that many became believers, and God’s church grew.
The third unit emphasizes the spread of the gospel and our responsibility to tell others about Jesus. Students learn how they can take part in sharing the good news, and they learn what it means to support those who persevere in doing the work of global missions.
Starting with Lesson 3, you will create a missions learning center in your classroom. Turn to the Missions Center supplement on pages 95–98 to find out what items are suggested each week. The supplement is a useful resource, providing enrichment activities and other helpful information you can use to help students learn about other cultures and people groups, and how to take part in the missionary task of the church.
